Shaney-Lee Shines on “The Voice Kids” UK with Enchanting John Denver Cover

Seven-year-old Shaney-Lee, a young country music fan from a farm in southwest England, stole the spotlight with his heartwarming debut on “The Voice Kids” UK, where he performed John Denver’s beloved classic, “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Surrounded by horses, goats, and chickens in his rural life, the song was a perfect fit for his blind audition.

When judge will.i.am asked if Shaney-Lee had ever ridden a horse, his playful reply, “I came here on my horse today,” added a charming, authentic touch to his already captivating stage presence.

As soon as he began singing the familiar lyrics, “Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains, blowing like a breeze, country roads, take me home…,” judge Danny Jones immediately commented, “That is the cutest voice I’ve ever heard!” The audience was equally moved, rising to their feet and clapping along, with some even shedding tears at his heartfelt performance.

“The Voice Kids” UK, which features contestants between the ages of 7 and 14, gave a platform to Shaney-Lee’s adorable yet soulful talent. His mother describes him as “an old soul in a young boy’s body,” reflecting his mature connection to the music.

Judge Pixie Lott couldn’t hold back her emotions, further proving the profound effect of Shaney-Lee’s audition, which left everyone in awe of his talent and sweetness.
