Catherine Zeta-Jones inundated with well wishes after suffering painful injury at home

Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 51, told fans she has injured her foot while putting her Christmas decorations up yesterday. The Chicago star, who is married to Michael Douglas, shared a video of her foot with a bag of ice on top as she explained what happened.

Detailing her injury, she said: “So, I was putting up my Christmas decorations and an iron rod that is supposed to be a sculpture) which I don’t even like) fell on my foot and it hurts. Happy Sunday.”

The actress went on to caption the post: “Ziplock Zeta foot fashion! Ice ice baby.”

Many of The Darling Buds of May star’s 3.5 million followers flocked to her post to comment.

One user wrote: “Hope you feel better soon.”

A second commented: “Oh no!!!! Ouch!!! So sorry lovely!!! Sending love.”

A third penned: “Prayers it heals quickly.”

“I hope you’ll feel better soon!” a fourth wrote.

The mother-of-two lives in New York with her long-term spouse Michael Douglas and their children Dylan, 19, and Carys, 17

Last month, she gave fans a rare insight into the family’s antics on Thanksgiving.

Catherine could be seen beaming for the camera alongside Michael, their children and his eldest son Cameron and partner Viviane.

The brunette beauty commented: “Thankful. #Thanksgiving.”

This year will be the couple’s first Christmas without Michael’s father Kirk Douglas, who died in February aged 103.
